We are a small group of dedicated archers with a love for the Traditional side of the sport of which we have a deep understanding and appreciation.
Our Workshop is situated in Kegworth, not 40 miles from the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest.
We supply longbows all over the world, "off the peg longbows" through specialist dealers and "custom made longbows" directly to the customer.
We are happy to advise on the most suitable bow for each archer and for each type of shooting, and can make arrows to suit.
Our longbows are finding favour in all forms of Traditional archery

Andy’s background as an engineer’s pattern maker has ensured that he has the skills to make handcrafted, bespoke items from both wood and composite materials; with an eye for attention to detail and the ability to select the best materials for the job – from the woods down to the adhesive.

His aim is to handwork materials, where possible, with minimal use of machinery – tailoring the product to the purchaser’s personal requirements.

His other forte is in the design of new products and the refinement of existing ones.

Web Link Green Man Longbows

Makers of fine English Longbows and war bows in traditional and modern designs.

Our English longbows are hand made in West Yorkshire, England, They are made from top quality Pacific Yew, supplied by a long established company specialising in bow woods. This slow grown Yew has a beautiful strong colour, with a sharp, clear distinction between heart and sap wood. The bow staves are made from wood specially selected for being clean and straight and are air dried and seasoned for up to four years. The grain is very tight and the wood is ideal for longbows of all weights.

The nocks are made from hand carved and polished buffalo horn (or cow horn) and the supplied string is made from high quality B50 bow string material. Hand grips, (if included) are made from calf leather and solid sterling silver wire.

Inspired by weapons from the past, I create longbows to meet the exacting requirements of archers of today.  Yew may be a difficult material to resource these days but modern craft techniques offer valuable, versatile alternatives.  I laminate a variety of woods to closely simulate the power and characteristics of the medieval original.
